Dr. Lynda Colgan was awarded Kingston’s highest civic honour: The First Capital Distinguished Citizen Award. Dr. Colgan is Professor Emerita, Faculty of Education, Queen’s University. Over the years, she has tirelessly dedicated her time and efforts to promote science, technology, engineering, and mathematics among children. Her outstanding journey as an educator and a Science Rendezvous champion has left an indelible mark on our community.

In 2011, Dr. Colgan took her commitment to education to new heights when she co-founded the first Science Rendezvous Kingston, which has been awarded a number of recognitions throughout the years. Dr. Colgan has coordinated Science Rendezvous Kingston for over 10 years and has served as our Executive Director, Education and Development since 2022. She is an invaluable member of our team, and she continues to inspire the next generation of scientists, engineers, and innovators.
