Saskatchewan Waste Reduction council will join us with a recycling activity.

Code Ninja

Code Ninja

Do no miss Code Ninja’s booth as they showcase several AWESOME coding activities and robotic demoes:
1. Coding Challenges for Kids
We will offer hands-on coding challenges, where children can engage with block-based coding tools like Scratch or MakeCode Arcade to create their own mini-games. This interactive activity will introduce them to the basics of programming and problem-solving in a fun and engaging way. Our staff will be on hand to guide participants through the process.
2. Robotics Demonstration
At our booth, we will have small programmable robots like LEGO Mindstorms. These robots will be used to navigate an obstacle course, and attendees will have the opportunity to interact with and even program the robots to complete simple tasks. This activity is a great introduction to the exciting world of robotics and engineering.
3. Minecraft Modding
We will also feature a Minecraft Modding station, where kids can learn to modify the game using simple coding techniques. Using Minecraft Education Edition, participants will have the opportunity to create their own in-game elements, such as custom characters or worlds, while learning the basics of programming and game design.
SCI-FI Science Camps

SCI-FI Science Camps

SCI-FI camps is ready to challenge you with the help of their little Robot Mouse, students will learn the basics of coding. Students will guide the mouse through various challenges by using instructions, directions, numbers and patterns.

Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation

Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation

Check out their booth that will showcase the amazing abilities of raptors, and how these birds of prey have adapted to become skilled hunters. Living Sky Wildlife Rehabilitation intakes about 2300 animals every year, with many of these animals being hawks, owls, and falcons. By showcasing the fascinating skills and adaptations of raptors, they hope to encourage people to live in harmony with these special creatures.

Engineering Design Mutualism Laboratory

Use your creativity and design skills to create wildlife puppets and masks! Learn about the mechanisms used in puppetry design.
The Engineering Design Mutualism Laboratory brings together social scientists, researchers, students, artists, and engineers.

Tours

The Observatory (held at 11 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM and 3 PM)

  • Join the friends of the Saskatoon chapter of The Royal Astronomical Society of Canada at the Observatory. We will have several different types of telescopes set up (refractors, SCTs, Dobs, “Smart” telescopes, etc.) Bring your family for a tour of the observatory, meet local amateur astronomers, get hands-on guidance and take part in solar viewing of the sun with us!

Museum of Antiquities (held at 11 AM, 1 PM, 2 PM and 3 PM)

  • Learn all about the human anatomy and archaeology with volunteers from the Museum of Antiquities. There will be a scavenger hunt after the tour, and afterwards, you are welcome to roam around the museum’s gallery.

quanTA Tour (1:30 PM and 2:30 PM)

  • Visit quanTA and know the first quantum computer obtained by a University in Canada
    Powerful quantum devices such as quantum computers require wholly new thinking around the ways in which we understand and process information.
