Science Rendezvous (SR) is an exciting grassroots initiative with SR events across Canada. Each SR event is created by executive coordinators and their teams who are excited to share their love of STEAM with their community. SR coordinating teams work together and in collaboration with the national steering committee to bring together local researchers, professionals and organizations to create the most exciting and interactive STEAM festivals they can imagine. Each SR event is unique and is organized independently under an affiliation granted by Science Rendezvous.
These events are not controlled by SR, but event coordinators agree to collaborate and participate in the national steering committee, use the SR event frameworks and programming, and are offered promotional materials, guidelines and mentorship for event planning. Additionally, there are established resources available to coordinators to facilitate event logistics, programming, activity development, volunteer coaching, sponsorship, marketing and more. Coordinators learn from us and from each other on the national steering committee. More than 25 large scale events are now held annually.
