Science Rendezvous Kingston
The Education Community Outreach Centre at Queen’s invites you to its 6th Annual Science Rendezvous Kingston event to experience science, technology, engineering and mathematics in ways that you have never experienced before. You will have a chance to ride a square-wheeled tricycle―just one of the features at our new and exciting Mathematics Midway. Over 325 volunteers: faculty members and students from Queen’s, The Royal Military College of Canada, St. Lawrence College, local museums, as well as citizen scientists from across southeastern Ontario will be at The Roger’s K-ROCK Centre to engage you in hands-on science and inspire you to become a scientist. You will need all day to visit more than 50 stations at our science party! Be among the first 1000 families and you will receive a book of science experiments to try out at home and a bag to gather up all the treasures that you make or receive at our displays. Plant an heirloom seed for your garden, tour a bat cave, learn how to resuscitate a non-breathing person, meet Smartie the robot and meet scientists from the Nobel Prize winning SnoLab team!
Art McDonald, Physics Nobel Prize winner, and Chelsea Elliot, Science Rendezvous volunteer.
NEW for 2016: outdoor demonstrations by the Canadian Raptor Conservancy.
